Iran to Send Two Students to Int’l Quran Contests in UAE, Bangladesh

IQNA – Two school students will represent Iran in two international Quran competitions, one in the United Arab Emirates and the other in Bangladesh, an official said.

Asghar Baqerzadeh, the Education Ministry’s cultural deputy, said the two have been selected as Iran’s representatives after demonstrating the best performances in a recent qualification competition held in Tehran.

He said Amir Hadi Bairami from Ardabil Province has been selected to compete for Iran in the international Quranic event in the UAE.

Seyed Abolfazl Aqdasi from Gilan Province will represent the country in the Bangladeshi Quran contest, he added.

Baqerzadeh also noted that Seyed Mohammad Sadeq Hosseini from Razavi Khorasan Province will be the representative of the country in the upcoming international Holy Quran competition for school students.

Earlier, Mikaeil Baqeri, the deputy education minister and director of the ministry’s Quran, Etrat and prayer department, said that Bangladesh has sent an invitation to Iran for introducing its representative, aged below 16, to compete in the South Asian country’s international Quran contest.
